TRICKY WORDS

The TRICKY WORDS are also called HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS. They are words that will help you to read faster and better. They are important because these words happen all the time. They are EVERYWHERE

How can I practice these words?

-Imitation: Look at the words on youtube and try to pronounce them accurately.

-Copying: write the words and copy them 5 times.

For example: some: some-some-some-some-some

- Dictation: I can hear the words and write them down properly.

- Combination: I copy the words and write a sentence with them.

For example: I  -  a  - the

For the last few weeks we have been carrying out a new project in Class: Australia

We started asking lots of questions about this country also about the people and animals that live in it.

Our class helped to prepare a display about Australian Unique Animals. 2A class was in charged to find information on some of these unique australian animals like the wombat, emu, saltwater crocodile, echidna, kangaroo and koala.

Mario made a short presentation showing us some of the photographs he took in his visit to this wonderful country.

Last week, we celebrated Australia Day at School.

We played traditional children games.

We practised throwing boomerangs in the playground.

We painted aboriginal art: dot painting technique.

                   SCHOOL BOOK FAIR

On September 27th, the school held the annual book Fair. A lot of interest was shown in the new books by parents, teachers and children. Class 2A attended the book fair during school time.
After the lessons, all the pupils had the opportunity to buy interesting books.

On Monday, September 10th, Class 2A started a new school year. All the pupils shared their summer holiday experiences with their classmates. On Tuesday, an English teacher, Catherine, came to our school to stay with us for over two weeks. Catherine gave us a short presentation to introduce herself. She wanted to get to know all the class, so class 2A prepared short presentations to introduce themselves. First,the pupils wrote the presentations on a paper. After that, they practised giving short introductions to their partners.

This week we are talking about food that we like and food we don´t like.

Food that is healthy. It makes us grow and have energy all day long.

Sausages are what most children like to eat at dinner time.

Cinderella

Theatre play at school:

Last week, we went to see a theatre play in English.

The play was Cinderella. This was a modern story of Cinderella.

Some of the children  took part in the play!

Cinderella is angry because she has to clean the house.

  

                                The mice (Luna and Maria) take cinderella to the ball.

                               Selma and Sally ,the ugly sisters: Pablo and Joaquin.

                                    They steal Cinderella´s dress to go to the ball.

                      The Fairy Godmother( Alberto) gives a new dress to cinderella.

                  The handsome prince (Diego) falls in love with cinderella at the ball.

      The handsome prince and Cinderella get married and live happily ever after.

St. Patrick´s Day!

Saint Patrick´s Day at school

St. Patrick´s Day is on March 17^th .  This year  17 th of March was on Saturday so we decided to celebrate Saint Patrick´s day one day before, Friday 16^th of March.

In order to celebrate Saint Patrick´s day at school, we decided to make a list of ideas of what we could do that day related to Irish culture and Irish traditions.

Some of our ideas were…..

*We can make leprechaun´s hats.

*We can prepare green jelly.

*We can eat green food on that day.

*We can put on green clothes that day.

*We can play Irish music at school.

*We can cut out shamrocks to decorate the school.

Etc.

With all these ideas we got ready to celebrate St. Patrick´s day in our school.

-We cut out and prepared leprechaun hats to put on for St. Patrick´s day.

-We wrote down wishes on lucky shamrocks.

                                                                                    "I wish I were a princess"

-We played "the naughty leprechaun game".

That was fun!  Few students went out of the classroom pretending to be the good leprechauns. The rest of the class played to be naughty leprechauns. They messed up the classroom a little bit. The good leprechauns had to find out what looked wacky in the classroom.

-We prepared green jelly in the school kitchen.

-We ate  green jelly using our five senses: sight, smelling, hearing, touching and taste.

mmmmm ……….it was yummy!

-We wrote down the recipe to prepare green jelly at home.

-We listened to irish music in the playground.

-We also danced to the rhythm of irish music.

               We had a great time!

" My favourite part is eating green jelly" said Joaquin.

"We like the part when we make green jelly" said Miguel and Andrea.

"We also liked playing naughty leprechauns game" said Candela and Luis Miguel.

A new visitor in the classroom

Good morning parents and children,

Today we had a new visitor in our classroom.

Her name is Kristen and she comes from Pensylvannia in the USA. She can only speak English and she works as an au pair in Zaragoza.

We asked her some questions and this is what we found out about her.

She is 22 years old.

She has got one brother and one sister.

Her favourite colour is pink.

Her two favourite sports are soccer and american football.

She has got two pets a dog and a cat.

Visita al Centro de Artesania de Aragon

El lunes 27 de febrero los alumnos de seis años visitamos el centro de artesanía de Aragón, en el barrio de las Fuentes de Zaragoza.
Allí Noemi y Hector, los dos monitores del taller, nos ayudaron a hacer un cuenco con arcilla de colores con nuestras manos.
¡Fué un taller muy entretenido y divertido!

Aprendimos que la arcilla puede tener colores diferentes según la clase de minerales que haya en la arcilla. Nosotros trabajamos con arcilla de tres colores diferentes:
Arcilla roja, arcilla blanca y arcilla negra.

Noemi nos fué explicando los pasos que teníamos que seguir para crear un cuenco con las arcillas de colores. Todos atendimos a sus explicaciones con gran atención mientras ibamos siguiendo sus pasos.

Primero, cada uno hicimos 30 bolitas con arcilla de color blanca y las colocamos separadas unas de otras en un molde.

Segundo, moldeamos otras tantas bolitas con arcilla de color negra y las colocamos tambien en el molde.

Tercero, hicimos una carita con la arcilla de tres colores y la colocamos boca a bajo en el molde.

                                                 "It is a witch", dice Julia.

                                              
                                                  " It is a vampire", dice Javier.

                                                   " It is a boy", dice Miguel.

                                                     "It is a girl", dice Maria Delpon.

Cuarto, cubrimos las bolitas y la cara en el molde con diferentes capas de arcilla.

Después, nos tomamos el almuerzo y jugamos un poco en el patio.
Andrea, Leire y Daniela posan en uno de los murales del patio.
Los abuelos de Irene vinieron a verla y les tomamos una foto. ¡Qué simpáticos!

 

 

Finalmente, regresamos al taller. Noemí, Hector y Marisol nos ayudaron a sacar el cuenco del molde y entonces vimos nuestras obras de arte. ¡Qué chulo!
